FLOWER BATATA RASSA - Maharashtrian CAULIFLOWER AND POTATO CURRY

Ingredients

  • 180-200 gms cauliflower florets, washed and cut 

  • 1potato, peeled and cut

  • ¼ cup green peas 

  • 5-6 cloves of garlic 

  • ¼ cup grated coconut 

  • 1inch ginger 

  • 6-7 curry leaves

  • 2-3 green chillies

  • 1 tomato, cut 

  • 1-2 onions, sliced 

  • Small bunch of coriander leaves

  • ½ tsp mustard seeds

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds 

  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

  • Pinch of Hing

  • 1-2 tbsp Shilpas Masala mill everyday masala 

  • ½ tsp Shilpas Masala mill Special garam masala 

  • Salt to taste 

  • Oil 

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • Grind together grated coconut, coriander, green chillies, ginger and garlic to a fine paste

  • Heat oil in a kadhai 

  • Add mustard, cumin, curry leaves  and onion

  • Add hing and fry for a few minutes until translucent 

  • Add all dry masala powders and fry for a few minutes

  • Add the ground coconut paste

Fry this until oil separates on surface 

  • Add cauliflower, peas and potato

Mix well 

  • Add garam masala and little coriander leaves 

  • Add hot water and simmer covered for around 5-6 minutes 

  • Now add tomato and adjust salt

Now continue to cook it covered for another 10 mins 

  • that's it, your tasty Flower Batata Rassa is ready
