Nariyal Barfi
Coconut barfi
This delicious fresh coconut dessert is often made during festivals and celebrations especially in south India.
This recipe consists of milk , sugar , coconut , nuts and a little milk powder.
Easy and delicious.
Nariyal Barfi (coconut Barfi)
INGREDIENTS:
½ liter full cream milk
⅓ cup desiccated coconut( may use fresh coconut )
1 tsp ghee ( clarified butter)
½ cup milk powder
2tbsp cream
1-2 tbsp sugar( according to taste)
Chopped pistachios for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
Take a heavy bottom pan ( non stick )
Boil the milk for 3-4 minutes
Now add the desiccated coconut
Add ghee
Cook this mixture on low-med flame until the milk reduces to half of its quantity
Keep stirring continuously
Now add milk powder
Add cream and sugar
Keep stirring continuously so that no lumps form
Stir until thickens and the mixture leaves the sides of pan easily ( forms dough like consistency)
