Seyal Double Roti
Seyal bread is a famous sindhi dish often served at breakfast .
It is made with Bread ( double Roti) which is cooked in a spicy , tangy and lip smacking gravy made with coriander, chilies , kassori Methi , garlic and tamarind. This delicious vegetarian recipe is easy and quick to make

GREEN MASALA INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup coriander leaves

  • 3 green chillies

  • Few mint leaves

  • 4-6 garlic cloves

  • 1piece ginger

  • ¼ tsp jeera( cumin)

  • Salt to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Grind into paste using little water if needed. Keep aside to use later

OTHER INGREDIENTS

  • 4- 5 pieces of bread ( can use pao or even stale Rotis)

  • 2 medium onions chopped

  • 1 medium tomato purée

  • 1-2 tsp tamarind paste

  • 1 tsp red chilli powder ( can reduce for less spicy )

  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder ( haldi )

  • ½ -1 tsp dry fenugreek leaves ( kassuri Methi)

  • 1tbsp coriander powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 2-3 tbsp oil

  • Coriander leaves for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Heat oil in a kadhai or pan

  • Add onion and fry for 2-3 mins

  • Add tomato purée  

  • Fry for another 3-4 mins 

  • Add haldi,chilli powder,coriander powder and salt

  • Fry for 1-2 mins

  • Now add green masala , coriander leaves( few) and kasuri Methi

Fry for 2-3 mins until oil separates and masala gets cooked
  • Fry for 2-3 mins until oil separates and masala gets cooked

Add ¼ cup to ½ cup water and tamarind paste ( water would depend upon how soggy you would like your bread to get.. I like it semi dry so added only ¼ cup waterCover and cook masala for few more minsNow add the bread (cut into bite size pieces)

  • Now add the bread (cut into bite size pieces)

  • Keep stirring for 5-7 minutes making sure masala coats the bread pieces
