INGREDIENTS

½ cup curry leaves

  • 5-6 small onions 

  • 1tbsp peanuts 

  • 3-4 

  • 2green chillies

  • 2 garlic cloves 

  • 1tsp ginger

  • ¼ cup grated coconut 

  • Small piece tamarind

  • 4tsp oil 

  • ½ -1 tsp roasted chana dal 

  • 1tsp mustard, curry leaves, red chilli  and urad dal for tadka 

  • Salt 

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • Heat oil in pan and roast the curry leaves until crisp ( not brown) 

  • Remove and keep aside

  • Heat oil in the same pan 

  • Add chana dal, peanuts and fry 

  • Add shallots, salt, garlic, ginger, green chillies and fry 

  • Add coconut and roasted curry leaves and fry for a few mins

Add tamarind

Cool and grind to a smooth paste

Add oil and give tadka with mustard, curry leaves, red chilli  and urad dal 

  • Enjoy with dosas, idlis 

  • I’ve served it with Kari Dosas
