  • 2bay leaves

  • 1cinnamon stick 

  • 3cloves

  • 3cardamom

  • 7-10 curry leaves

  • ¼ tsp hing

  • 15-20 peanuts

  • ½ cup bottle gourd

  • 2-3 brinjals 

  • ½ cup carrots

  • 1medium potato

  • ½ cup green peas

  • 1medium tomato

  • 1.5 inch ginger 

  • 1onion chopped

  • 2-4 garlic 

  • Turmeric

  • Green chilly paste 

  • ¾ cup rice 

  • ¼ cup Tuvar dal

  • ¼ cup split green gram 

  • ¼ cup Moong dal 

  • Salt to taste 

  • Water 

INSTRUCTIONS

Soak rice and daals for atleast 2 hours

Add vegetables , and all other ingredients

Add 3 cups water and simmer 

  • Add2 cups hot water later and cook for 15 mins 

  • Consistency Shd be soft and slightly runny ( Khichadi texture)

INGREDIENTS FOR TADKA

  • 1tsp ghee

  • 1tsp oil 

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds

  • Curry leaves

  • Hing

  • 2-3 dry red chilies 

  • 1tsp grated coconut 

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • temper all ingredients and pour over the prepared Khichadi 

  • Serve hot with papad, Kadhi ,pickle and kachumber
