NARIYAL BARFI July 23, 2020 Shilpa Anand Nariyal BarfiCoconut barfiThis delicious fresh coconut dessert is often made during festivals and celebrations especially in south India.This recipe consists of milk , sugar , coconut , nuts and a little milk powder.Easy and delicious.Nariyal Barfi (coconut Barfi) INGREDIENTS:½ liter full cream milk⅓ cup desiccated coconut( may use fresh coconut ) 1 tsp ghee ( clarified butter)½ cup milk powder2tbsp cream 1-2 tbsp sugar( according to taste) Chopped pistachios for garnishINSTRUCTIONSTake a heavy bottom pan ( non stick )Boil the milk for 3-4 minutesNow add the desiccated coconutAdd ghee Cook this mixture on low-med flame until the milk reduces to half of its quantityKeep stirring continuously Now add milk powder Add cream and sugar Keep stirring continuously so that no lumps formStir until thickens and the mixture leaves the sides of pan easily ( forms dough like consistency) Lightly Grease a mould with ghee (I have used parchment paper to line the container)Pour the hot Barfi mixture into the greased mouldSmoothen the Barfi with spatula ( press it down to your desired thickness) Garnish with pistachios Chill the Barfi in the refrigerator for 30-40 mins Cut into desired shapesYour easy, yummy Nariyal Barfi is ready
