SABUT (Akkhi) MASOOR DAL WITH METHI
INGREDIENTS for dal
100-150 gms of Sabut Masoor, washed and soaked( you can use unsoaked too )
1bunch Fresh methi, cut, washed and cleaned thoroughly
1onion, sliced
1tomato, chopped
2-4 green chillies, sliced
Few curry leaves
4-5 cloves of garlic
½ tsp Haldi
Salt to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
put all ingredients in the cooker and give 2-3 whistles until dal is cooked
Once cooked, open cooker and mix well
INGREDIENTS FOR TADKA
1 tbsp oil
4-5 whole red chillies
1onion, sliced
1tsp Ginger
2tsp Garlic
Cumin seeds
1tsp coriander powder
½ tsp cumin powder
½ tsp red chilli powder
Coriander leaves
Hing
INSTRUCTIONS
heat oil and add jeera and Hing
Add onions, ginger and garlic and fry for few minutes
Add the whole red chillies and sauté
Add powdered masalas and little water to fry everything
Add boiled daal and mix well
Add water to adjust consistency and adjust seasoning
Boil one or two mins
Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves
