CHAI MASALA January 21, 2021 Shilpa Anand Masala for Indian milk teaINGREDIENTS: 19 gms green cardamom( 2 tbsp)3 gms cloves(1tbsp) 3 gms cinnamon sticks( 3 sticks)½ tsp nutmeg1black cardamom2pieces of bay leaves2tsp black pepper 2-3 tsp sonth powder ( dried ginger) 12-15 strands of saffronINSTRUCTIONSDry roast all ingredients except sonth powder and saffron until fragrant. Do not burn the spices Cool and then grind with saffron and saunth powder to a powder form That’s it, your delicious and aromatic winter tea masala is ready Store in an airtight container and use whenever an uplifting cup of tea is desiredTo make tea add ¾ -1cup of water in a pot. Add a pinch of tea masala. add 2 tsp tea leaves and boil. Now add ¾ cup milk and continue to simmer. lastly, add sugar or sweetener. Your restaurant style masala chai is ready Enjoy!
