SEAFOOD BOIL WITH CAJUN BUTTER GARLIC SAUCE

INGREDIENTS FOR CAJUN SAUCE

  • 1 onion, grated

  • 4-5 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1tsp brown sugar

  • 5tbsp Cajun seasoning mix( oregano, paprika, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, chilli powder, black pepper) 

  • ½ cup Sprite

  • ½ cup Seafood broth/chicken broth 

  • 1tbsp Oil

  • 100-150 gms salted Butter

  • 1tbsp Hot sauce 

  • 1tsp Soya sauce 

OTHERS

  • 2-3 Sweet corn, boiled

  • 4-5 Potatoes, boiled 

  • Prawns, deveined

  • Squid, cleaned and cut 

  • Mussels, crabs etc( optional) 

  • Sausage, chopped and browned 

  • Boiled eggs

INSTRUCTIONS

  • HEAT oil in a pan 

  • Add chopped onions and sauté for few mins until onions are translucent 

  • Add butter

Add garlic and sauté for 2-3 mins 

  • Add Cajun powder

Add sprite and seafood broth

Add brown sugar, Cajun seasoning,  soya sauce and hot sauce 

  • Simmer until slightly thickened

Reserve some sauce to use later

In the same pan add prawns and cover and cook for a few mins

Add squid and cover and cook

Now add all vegetables, egg, seafood to the Cajun butter sauce and simmer for few more mins

That’s it, your super delicious Seafood Boil with Cajun Butter Garlic sauce is ready

  • Add parsley/coriander leaves for garnish

Toss well and serve hot with rice, salad and lemon wedges
