NO COCONUT Spicy GINGER CHUTNEY Andhra style ALLAM Pachadi

INGREDIENTS 

  • 1 tbsp oil 

  • 2 tbsp chana dal 

  • 1.5 tbsp urad dal 

  • 4-6 dry red chillies 

  • 1.5-inch ginger, sliced 

  • 2 garlic cloves 

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp coriander seeds 

  • ¼ tsp methi seeds 

  • 1 tbsp jaggery 

  • 1 tbsp tamarind extract 

  • Salt 

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • heat oil in a pan 

  • Add urad dal, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, methi and chana dal

Sauté over medium flame until golden brown

  • Add the dry red chillies and continue to sauté for 1 minute

Remove and keep aside 

  • In the same pan add ginger, garlic  and continue to fry

Add tamarind and fry for a minute 

  • Switch off the flame and let it cool 

  • Transfer into a blender jar and grind everything together with salt and jaggery to a smooth paste. Add water as needed

That’s it, Ginger chutney is ready 

  • Temper with mustard, curry leaves, urad dal, red chillies and hing 

  • Your delicious no coconut Spicy  Ginger chutney is ready to be served 

  • Serve with idlis,Dosa,uttapam,pesaruttu,
