GAVRAN HIRVYA MATKICHI USAL (village style sprouted moth beans)

INGREDIENTS FOR GREEN MASALA

½ fresh coconut ,sliced

  • Bunch of coriander leaves with stems 

  • 5-6 garlic

  • ½ inch ginger

  • Few curry leaves 

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds 

  • 2-3 tsp roasted peanuts 

  • 7-8 green chillies 

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • Blend all above ingredients to paste form adding water

OTHER INGREDIENTS 

250-300 gms matki , sprouted

  • Oil 

  • ½ tsp cumin seeds

  • Few Curry leaves 

  • Pinch of hing 

  • 1onion, chopped 

  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder 

  • ½ tsp Kasuri methi 

  • Coriander leaves, chopped 

  • 1tsp coriander powder 

  • ½ tsp garam masala powder 

  • Salt to taste 

  • ¼ tsp Sugar ( optional) 

  • Half tomato, chopped 

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • add oil to the pan 

  • Add cumin, curry leaves and hing 

  • Add onion and fry until brown in colour

Add turmeric powder and the ground paste

Fry the masala until oil separates on sides( keep stirring) 

  • Add Kasuri methi and coriander leaves 

  • Add coriander powder, garam masala and salt 

  • Fry well 

  • Add matki and enough water to cook the sprouts

Add tomato 

  • Cook on med flame for around 10- 12 mins
