PANDA EXPRESS INSPIRED ORANGE CHICKEN October 10, 2020 Shilpa Anand INGREDIENTS FOR Chicken250-300 gms chicken, thighs or breast sliced or cubed½ tsp pepperChilli flakes( optional) ½ tsp Salt 1-2 tbsp Orange juice100 gms Cornstarch2 Egg, beaten INSTRUCTIONSMARINATE chicken with salt, pepper and orange juice.cover and keep aside for at least 30 mins Mix together egg and cornstarch to make a smooth batter Add chicken and coat it evenly Heat oil to deep fryAdd chicken ( do not overcrowd) Fry in batches for 4- 5 mins onlyRemove and coolNow double fry all the chicken until golden and crispy Your chicken is ready INGREDIENTS FOR ORANGE SAUCEOil1tsp ginger, chopped1tbsp garlic, choppedRed pepper flakes¼ cup of orange juice 3 ½ tbsp of soya sauce ¼ cup brown sugar1tbsp honey( optional)1 tsp orange zest3tbsp vinegar1tbsp Cornstarch to make a slurry Scallion and sesame seeds for garnishSesame oilRice wineINSTRUCTIONSHEAT oil in a panAdd ginger, garlic and chilli flakesAdd sugar and brown sugar Stir the mixsoya sauceAdd orange zest Add vinegar Add cornstarch slurry Continue mixing for around 2 minsTurn off heat when u get the desired consistency Add chicken and coat it well And you are doneYour orange chicken is ready to be served Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds and serve with fried rice SPICE LEVEL: 🌶
