FALAFEL
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup Chickpeas, soaked overnight and drained dry (not pictured)
½ Onion chopped
5-6 cloves Garlic
1-2 Green chillies
1/4tsp Red chilli powder
1tsp Cumin powder
½ tsp Coriander powder
¼ tsp Black pepper
½ Lemon juice
1tsp Salt
Large bunch of coriander leaves
2 Spring onion ( not pictured)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Add the chickpeas into a food processor
Add coriander leaves and spring onion
Add onion and green chillies
Add cumin , coriander, red chilli powder and salt
Add lemon juice
Grind everything together ( coarse mixture)
Leave mixture in fridge to chill for 15-20 minutes
Grease your hand slightly
Shape smooth balls. You can make round falafel or disc shaped ( around 14-18 falafels)
Heat oil for frying falafel
Deep Fry falafel on med heat. Don’t stir the falafels too much. You can shallow fry the falafel patty too as I’ve done.you can also air fry these falafels.
Once they are golden brown on all sides , remove and place them on a paper towel.
Your crispy and delicious falafels are ready
