EASY GREEN MOONG DAL August 27, 2020 Shilpa Anand INGREDIENTS: 1cup green Moong soaked1onion sliced1tomato chopped1tbspb ginger paste1tsp garlic paste1-2 tsp Red chili powder¼ tsp Turmeric powder1tbsp Shilpa’s Masala Mill Garam masala 1tbsp Kasuri Methi Pinch of Hing1 Bay leaf1small piece of Cinnamon1tsp Cumin seedsSalt to taste 1-2 green chiliesLemon juice to taste Coriander leaves2-3 tbsp Ghee ( oil can be substituted) INSTRUCTIONS pressure cook the soaked Moong dal with enough water, salt, turmeric, little onion, and a little tomato. Cool and keep aside Heat ghee in a panAdd cumin seeds, cinnamon, bay leaf, and hing. Sauté for 1-2 minsAdd onionAdd ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2-3 mins Add powdered masalas and continue to fry for 3-4 mins ( add little water if masala tends to burn) Add tomatoes and fry until oil separates on surface and sides Add Kasuri Methi and fry for a min Add the cooked Moong dal Add hot water to adjust dal consistency Adjust seasoning Add green chilies and cover and cook for 8-10 mins Adjust seasoning And your easy, nutritious green Moong dal is ready Serve garnished with coriander and lemon juice SPICE LEVEL: 🌶
