EASY GREEN MOONG DAL

  • 1 Bay leaf

  • 1small piece of Cinnamon

  • 1tsp Cumin seeds

  • Salt to taste 

  • 1-2 green chilies

  • Lemon juice to taste 

  • Coriander leaves

  • 2-3 tbsp Ghee ( oil can be substituted) 

INSTRUCTIONS

pressure cook the soaked Moong dal with enough water, salt, turmeric, little onion, and a little tomato. Cool and keep aside

Heat ghee in a panAdd cumin seeds, cinnamon, bay leaf, and hing. Sauté for 1-2 minsAdd onionAdd ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2-3 mins
  • Heat ghee in a pan

  • Add cumin seeds, cinnamon, bay leaf, and hing. Sauté for 1-2 mins

  • Add onion

  • Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2-3 mins

Add powdered masalas and continue to fry for 3-4 mins ( add little water if masala tends to burn)

Add tomatoes and fry until oil separates on surface and sides

Add Kasuri Methi and fry for a min

Add hot water to adjust dal consistency Adjust seasoning Add green chilies and cover and cook for 8-10 mins
