DAL MAKHANI (with Shilpa's Masala mill Spice mix for Makhani gravy)

Ingredients 

  • 1cup black urad, soaked overnight 

  • 2-3 tbsp rajma, soaked overnight 

  • 2-3 tbsp of Shilpa's Masala Mill Spice Mix for Makhani Gravy 

  • 1 cup milk 

  • 1-2 tbsp ginger garlic paste 

  • 1-2 tomatoes,puréed 

  • 2-3 tbsp ghee 

  • Butter 

  • Cream 

  •  Little Kasuri methi 

  • 1tsp Shilpas Masala mill Garam masala 

  • Honey 

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • mix together the makhani gravy mix with milk and keep aside for use later 

  • pressure cook the urad dal and rajma with salt until  it’s softened

Heat ghee in a kadhai 

  • Add tomato purée and ginger garlic paste

( Add red chilli powder if u want it spicy ) 

  • Fry until oil separates on surface 

  • Add the makhani gravy mix with milk and continue to fry for a few minutes 

  • Add salt and the boiled dal and rajma

  • Mashup dal with a potato masher if needed 

  • Fry for a few minutes 

  • Now add remaining liquid( leftover from the boiled dal)  or water 

  • Simmer covered  for 5-10 minutes 

  • Add butter and Kasuri methi and continue to simmer covered  for another 5-10 minutes 

  • Add garam masala 

  • Add cream and honey if desired 

  • And that’s it, your quick and easy Dal Makhani is ready 

  • Serve with a dollop of cream, butter and coriander leaves

Enjoy with naan, paratha and rice
