CHAVLI CHI AAMTI (CKP style)

BLACK EYED BEANS CURRY 

INGREDIENTS

100 gms chavli  , soaked overnight

  • 1 onion , finely cut 

  • ½ cup fresh  coconut , ground 

  • ½ tsp jeera powder 

  • 2 tsp of Shilpa’s Masala Mill Everyday Masala 

  • 1tsp green chilli,garlic and coriander paste

  • ½ tsp shilpa’ s Masala Mill special garam masala 

  • Small piece of jaggery 

  • 3-4 Kokum

  • Coriander leaves , chopped for garnish 

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil 

INSTRUCTIONS

  • HEAT oil in pan 

  • Add onions and sauté for 3-4 mins 

  • Add the chawli ( black eyed beans )

Sauté for 2-3 mins 

  • Then add turmeric, jeera powder, everyday masala, garlic chilly and coriander paste and garam masala

Fry for few more mins

Add hot water and allow chavli to cook ( takes around 10 mins) 

  • Once cooked, take little cooked chavli and the ground coconut in a mixer jar and blend it once again

Add this mixture ( vatan ) to the curry 

  • Add jaggery , and kokum , salt and coriander leaves 

  • Give a quick boil and that’s it, chavli chi AAMTI is ready 

  • Enjoy with bhakris, rice, chapati
