HOMEMADE TUTTI FRUTTI (with raw papaya)

Ingredients

  • 1raw papaya, peeled and cut into small cubes. This should be around 3 cups

  • Water 

  • 1 cup Sugar

  • 1cup water 

  • Food colours as desired

  • Food essences as desired 

INSTRUCTIONS 

  • boil the chopped  papaya for 5-7 mins until 50% done and slightly translucent

Strain and keep aside

Add sugar and 1cup water to a pan and boil until sugar dissolves 

  • Add the boiled papaya to it and cover and simmer for 10-15 mins until sugar syrup reduces in quantity

  • Remove from fire and divide into 3 bowls 

  • At this point, you can add your favourite colour and essence to each bowl to stain the cooked papaya.mix well

I’ve used pandan, saffron and strawberry essence

  • Leave covered for 10-12 hours 

  • After 12 hours strain the candied papaya if any excess sugar syrup

Store in freezer for up to 6 months in an airtight container 

  • Use this delicious tutti frutti  for ice creams, cakes, desserts etc
