RAVA KESARI July 24, 2020 Shilpa Anand Rava KesariKesari bathRava Kesari is a quick and easy dessert made with very few ingrediants(It’s generally loaded with ghee but I reduced the amount for this preparation)RAVA KESARIINGREDIENTS ½ cup Rava ( semolina, sooji)½ cup ghee1cup sugar ( or adjust to your taste) 1cup water¼ tsp cardamom powder6-7 strands of kesar( saffron)soaked in 1-2 tsp of warm milk Ghee Fried cashew Nuts for garnish Kesari food color ( optional) INSTRUCTIONSHeat ghee in a pan Add rava( sooji) Stir fry the Rava on low flame. Keep stirring Fry until Rava changes colour and aromatic( around 7-8 mins)Switch off the gas. Keep aside Now heat up the water in a small pan. Add a pinch of food color if desired Boil Once the water boils, add this hot boiling water to the Rava Keep flame on low and stir continuously Cover and cook for 2-3 mins Water will get absorbed by the RavaOpen lid, stir the Rava and then add sugarMix it well Fry until ghee separates from sides of the pan Add saffron soaked in milkMix Add cardamom powderFry for another 1-2 minsYour delicious rava Kesari is ready Serve garnished with fried cashewsEnjoy with puris or just as it is.
