MANGANE GANAPATI SPECIAL GOAN( Konkani )KHEER

This is a traditional Goan Kheer which is prepared especially during Ganesh festival and offered as Prasad 

It is made of Chana dal, jaggery, sago, and coconut milk

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1cup Chana dal, soaked and cooked until its soft but retaining shape 

  • 1cup jaggery 

  • 2-3 cups coconut milk

  • Few fresh coconut pieces

  • Few soaked cashew nuts

  • 3-4 tbsp of sabudana, soaked 

  • Cardamom powder

  • Nutmeg powder

  • Salt to taste 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Mix everything in a pot

  • Turn on gas to low flame and simmer the kheer 

  • Cook until mixture thickens 

  • And that’s it, your easy and nutritious Mangane is ready to serve
