CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES July 21, 2020 Shilpa Anand INGREDIENTS:115 gms or 1stick of Butter at Room temperature 50 gms of white granulated sugar120 gms of brown sugar1large egg ( room temp)185 gms of All purpose flour¼ tsp baking powder½ tsp baking soda¼ tsp salt1tsp vanilla extract200 gms of chocolate chips (semi sweet)INSTRUCTIONS:Whisk together the flour, salt , baking powder , baking soda in a bowl. Set aside In a large bowl, cream the butter, white sugar and brown sugar together using an electric hand mixer until well combined and smooth in texture ( use medium speed)Now add the egg and vanilla extract.Beat the mixture on low until well combinedSieve the previously prepared flour mixture into the creamy batterMix with spatula until just combined. Do not over mix Add the chocolate chips and mix making sure the chips are evenly spread throughout the doughNow refrigerate to chill this cookie dough for an hour. This is not necessary but recommendedUse an ice cream scoop ( or 2 tbsp ) to make cookies or simply use hands to roll into ballsDrop the balls about 2 inches apart on a baking tray lined with parchment paper Preheat oven to 180 c / 350 FBake cookies for 10-12 mins , until golden around the edges but still soft in the centre Remove from oven and let it cook for a few minutesTransfer onto a wire rack and let it cool completely Your irresistible chewy, gooey chocolate chip cookies are ready for you to enjoy
